If you’ve got a really significant health, fitness, or weight loss goal that you want to achieve, a really good tactic to employ is to throw yourself into the deep end. What I mean by that is, decide that you’re 100% going to achieve your goal.
There was a story I was once told, about a general who was sailing his army into the shore of a country that they were going to go into battle with. As they were approaching, they could see that they were drastically outnumbered. As they reached the shores, he ordered for his army to burn their ships so that hey had absolutely no way of retreating. They either had to fight and win, or they were going to perish and die. There was no other option. There was no room for retreat. As the story goes, this army won because of the attitude that they fought with.
With this, the bigger the cost and the bigger the expense mentally, physically and financially, the greater the likelihood of success.
