Mindset Fitness Success EP07- Avoid Environments That Threaten Your Good Habits

A really important tip when it comes to forming healthy new habits is to avoid environments that are going to tempt you or pull you away from the habit that you’re trying to form.

An example of this would be if you’re trying to quit smoking and if you would always go out and have a cigarette when you had a few drinks with friends. The worst thing to do at the start when you’re trying to form that new habit of not smoking is to put yourself in an environment where you may be tempted to repeat old behaviours that you formerly had.

For instance, if you were trying to quit sugar and you really had a sweet tooth for eating chocolate. One of the worst environments that you could put yourself in would be doing a regular daily shop where you had to actually go through the check out, and you’re going to be tempted by the sweets that are sitting along as you’re waiting to be served by the cash operator. It is important to try and avoid these situations where you may be tempted.
